This is one of the new roses I have that is blooming still. One problem, they don't stay around long. My dogs love to eat them off the bush.... They smell wonderful, but if I don't get to them fast enough, they'll eat them.
My dog I had before them did them same thing. I don't get it. What is it about my dogs and roses that make them so attractive they have to eat them before I can enjoy them. Now I have to find an attractive way to keep them from getting to them.
Brandi my oldest, jumped up on the planter one day to eat them, and got the hair on her ear tangled up, all I could hear was her wining and I had to go out and untangle her. They are just like little children..

Your roses are beautiful. Sorry - no answer as to why dogs like them so much.
I have never heard of this! I hope you don't use any form of fertilizer or pesticide.
Sprinkle some chili powder around your bushes...they'll have a sneezing fit and may get the connection to stay clear. Or a shrub hair net that is used to keep birds from fruit may work until they figure out they can't get to them, then they'll stay away. Up side to this is your pooches will have rosey breath. Did ya Google dogs and roses to see if any harm could come to ither?
I don't use harmful pesticides etc on anything.
I'll try the chili powder to see if it detours them.
P.S. they are not poisonous to Dogs
What a beautiful rose and photo! I've never heard of a dog eating roses! How peculiar!
Maybe Daisy and Brandi are confused and instead of picking a bouquet for mommy they eat them then yack em up for you later. Ya know rose petals are edible and Martha Stewart would put them in her salad. Maybe D&B are part "vegetinarians"!!!...or are roses considered a fruit? Could B&D have a vitamin deficiency?
Enough blabbering.....
Of course Callie applauds them both
=^..^=
