Why I Love Thrift Stores

So I am sitting home and getting bored and needed to get out of the house. My true reason was to look for old books to place around the house. Well I didn't find old books, but.... I did find something else.

I found the bee and wasp catchers at Thrift Town, and the painting and the large silver plater at the Goodwill down the street. The painting, is hand painted, by a talented Darlene who's signature is on it.  And the large silver plater was $8.99 not bad for as big as it is. I don't think I'll shine it up, anytime soon. Just trying to figure out where to place it in the house. I might hang it.

This is exactly why I love browsing Thrift shops more than department stores.

I made a few other scores as well, I'll share them another day.

Nice finds! I have not been to a thrift store in a while - to many other projects.
Have a great day. Glenda

Hi Glenda, I came for a visit from Neabear. Lovely thrifting finds!! We're big Goodwill fans and antiques and uniques fans also. You would be amazed at what my 20 yo does with her clothing finds from Goodwill. She's a real fashionista, and everyone goes ga-ga that it's from Goodwill!

Love your puppies, too!

Blessings for a great New Year!

Oh, I'm I'm right there with you, Glenda! I need a thrifting fix. It's so rainy here, but I need to get out there soon. Actually I'll be shopping on Sat. at a big antiques market, so that should do the trick.

Happy New Year!

Ooh I've never seen a bee catcher before. I never even knew there was one. How cool!

That picture is a real treasure. How pretty. Sad someone gave it away though. But lucky you now have it in your home.

I think I may just have to do some thirfting tomorrow. Whenever I see what people find I get the desire to go myself. It's so fun no knowing what you will find.

You did good! You did real good!

Hugs,
Joanne

What a lucky day at the thrift stores. Lately I have purchased more things at thrift shops than I did at the Mall or the regular stores that I usually shop at. I LOVE the silver platter

Have a Happy New Year and LOTS of luck on your thifty shoping!

I did not know about the bee and wasp catchers. Those look really neato! So now you will have to show us how you are going to display them.
