A Need To Close A Chapter

It's time to sell our childhood home. It's been almost 2 years, since our fathers passing and 5 years since our mothers. Myself and my sister Gail, and my brother all grew up in this home.

It carries a lot of memories. It is now time to let it go to another family for them to have memories. Our parents bought the home in 1961. In 2007 my sister and I cleaned out the house with 2 large dumpsters, and 6 truckloads. We had and Estate Sale and were lucky to have sold so many things. We kept what we wanted and let go of the rest.
This home was built in 1930 and it has a lot of good bones. It isn't in a location that I would want to live, although it is still considered a wonderful and highly sot out area.
I meet with a Realtor this coming Monday, and although it will be hard to say goodbye it's time, to move on.
I am asking everyone out in Blogland to help send positive thoughts towards the final outcome, and to pray that it will end on a positive note.

Remember to use the "Secret" The law of attraction to get what ya want. Visualize the end results and never take your focus off it.

Sending nothing but wonderful thoughts your way. It must be a bit sad to say good bye to the home you grew up in. We moved around a lot when I was growing up so we never had a "house I grew up in". I always envied the friends I had that did though.

I hope a wonderful young couple buys it and raises a house full of kids there.

Big hugs,
Joanne

What a darling home to grow up in! Just don't sell it to anyone that wants to turn in into a McMansion!

My thoughts are with you...I am sure that home holds many lovely memories.
I also ask that you send some good vibes our way. My daughter is moving into her apt this weekend and it will be much different from dorm life.
She is almost 20 but still my little girl.
She is a film major and she loves San. Fran so I do not see her moving home anytime soon.
They grow so fast:)

Good luck, Glenda--my sisters and I went through something similar when our dad died 4 years ago--we moved my mom up to Idaho to be near us and she sold our childhood down in southern Calif. Lots and lots of memories there. I love your childhood home--it's darling. Take care, Jann

My heart goes out to you. I remember when my parents sold our childhood home. I tried to just block it because it was so very sad. Whenever I'm back in my hometown, which is not often due to distance, I always go by it. There is a sweet family there raising their children in the beautiful spaces we also played in. It is bittersweet.
