My mother had this tray around the house for years. I think it was part of a set. It's hand painted.
It's seen better day's. I am torn between trying to restore it or leave it as is.
If I keep it as is, I feel like I should put a clear coat of spray paint to keep it as is. What do you think ?

MOrning Sweetie, Thanks for Sending the nice comments! I am sorry about your Dad, I lost mine 3 1/2 years ago , very tragically, I went a whole year without sleep! Seriously don't know how I got through,God I guess,Now It is just my Mom , she is amazing though, she has found strength and is carrying on and doing some traveling, she is my best friend! I am taking her to England for Christmas! I dread the day I have to sell her house! Peace be with you my friend! I love your two little ones tooo! Mine give me such comfort! I would leave the tra, spray it with clearcoat, I LOVE your lamp and your birdcage WOW! Great job! Big Hugs and have a wonderful day, I am off to visit your soster! Diana Lyn
Glenda, it is a beautiful tray! I would just leave it as it is, no restoration. You are lucky to have it.
whoaaa now don't mess with that one sugar! Remember things don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. Seal it with a light coat of a matte finish or semi matte finish and leave be. What's for lunch? We can have tea and use that rockin tray hon!!
That tray is beautiful as it is. Don't paint over it.
Hugs,
Joanne
Hi Glenda,
The tray is beautiful. I would leave it as is and not do anything to it. My hubbie's addicted to Antique Roadshow and so many times they say you should even clean pieces because you'll take the patina off.
Looking forward to the party tomorrow, I already did my grocery shopping for "us girls".
Happy day,
xo~Tracie
that's shouldn't clean pieces to leave the patina on ;)
see ya tomorrow!
I would probably leave it as is too. It's beautiful and full of character.
Keep it as is!!! It's beautiful!
Hi Glenda!
It's beautiful! I would leave it as is, maybe a clear finish to protect it is all. The worn parts just give it more character and show how much it's been loved!
Hugs, Sherry
Hi Glenda,
Thanks for visiting me. I really appreciate:) Love your suggetions of "Chateau, so I'm thinking Chateau Ramblewood..still thinking about it and seeing if anyone else has some suggetions:) I'm thinking you should keep the tray as is, and spray a sealer on it. It's lovely:) Have a good weekend. Warmly, Deb
