Merry Christmas to me

Merry Christmas to me. Well I did it. I went out and got myself a 46 inch HDTV for christmas.

It is so big ! I have my mother's buffet that I well be bringing home from their house to put the TV on it's from I believe the 1940's. The clutter on to of it was how it was in my parents home before my sister and I cleaned it out earlier this year. It will make a great addition to my home.

My Family

This is a picture of my family taken back in 1956. I am the baby in my mothers arms.

My mother and father have both passed away. It was in easier times. And we lived in a craftsman house in Oakland, CA. 

Coffee Table Hunt

I am currently looking for a coffee table. I have had the same coffee table for 30 years and it is so outdated. If I can find a table and paint it that would be fine. So I have been looking through the thrift stores for it. Wish me luck.

Romantic at heart

I find myself looking at old movies and looking at what furniture and other things there are in the room. I love the old hollywood look in a room. It's romantic. Going into antiques stores and knowing that the things I see all belonged to someone before me and that they all have a story to tell. I lean more toward the Shabby Chic look, but I like to mix it up as well.

Going to the antique malls with my sister in New Mexico when I go to visit, is incredible to me. She knows so much more than I.

I like the old furniture and inherited furniture from my parents after their passing. And it's going to be just what the doctor ordered for my taste.

I have a 21 year old son, who does not appreciate these fine things as do I.

I like to talk to people about what they know about antiques, because everyone has a story to tell about things they like and why. Or what they collect.
