This is Brandi, she is a teacup poodle. She is now 2 years old and a sweetie. She has traveled back to my sisters home on the plane and she did so well, I call her my sturdy girl. She now has a sister Daisy that I call my wild child. 

Brandi is a sweet dog, with some weird habits that perhaps only poodles have. She chews her nails, and if you have a hang nail she bites it until it's off and cleaned up. She loves to snuggle. I have a large chest and she loves to sleep on it, like pillows. She's been doing it since I got her. And if your not a large breasted woman and she tries to sleep on you like she does with me, and slips off she gets confused and keeps trying, it's sort of funny to watch. 

That's my baby.......

Girl Friends and Blog Sisters

GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE

When I was little,
I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,

God would show you the best in many friends.



One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.
Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'
Another , 'Let's fight together,'
Another , 'Let's walk away together.'



One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.



But whatever their assignment in your life,
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself .
Those are your best friends.



It may all be wrapped up in one woman,

But for many, it's wrapped up in several..
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
a couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother,
On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters,
And on some days, your daughters.

So whether they've been your friend for 20 minutes or 20 years.                                                  God has placed these women in your life to make a difference.

Upside Down

At first when a saw this I was not sure what I was seeing. But I looked again and it's upside down. Yes, someone decided to build their home looking upside down. It's in Germany. Silly german. I can't imagine the look on the contractors face when they saw the plans for it.  But what a fun imagination this person has.

A pink Mercury Cougar, is to some a dream come true. I don't know if I could drive this around.

Lipstick Jungle

Are you a fan of "Lipstick Jungle" ?. I didn't see season one and haven't seen a few of the second season. But I have to say, what I've seen I am hooked.  I would like to see Season One. I'll have to look around for it. 

Anyone else out there watch it ?

Postcards From The Past

I found a site with old postcards and it's one of my favorite places to go. I love the artwork of the old postcards, with mostly muted colors.  It also shows you how things were interpreted back as early as 1910. 

This Isn't Your Regular Pumpkin Decorating

Cinderella's carriage made with junk.

Painted leafs with candles in place of the steam. 
Stacked pumpkins that are painted, and scary faces carved in them.
And jewel embellished.

I found all these on the Better Homes and Garden site. I think the Cinderella one is the best.

Store Is Shutting It's Doors

Can you believe it ? After 60 years in business another Department Store is closing it's doors for good. After trying to File Bankruptcy and do their level best to keep a float they called it quits. Instead of having a Christmas Sale, they'll now have a going out of business sale. 

I hated when Montgomery Ward closed their doors. How ever you can still do online shopping with them. 

It's sad to see the old standards going away and never returning.  I shopped both these stores more when I was younger, but as an adult I just never did. How sad.

Wonderful Inspirations

I stumbled on to these at Barnes & Noble a few weeks back, and I don't remember ever seeing these before. There are a lot of wonderful inspirations in both of these. I don't think you can get a subscription of them. They are from  'Meredith Specials' , from Meredith Corp. 

They are great and I recommend these if you don't have them already.

All Thrift Store Baby...

I waited for months for the picture with the boy to get marked down. Can you believe it started out at $34.99 at a Thrift store !!!! They finally marked it down to $9-, which is what is should have been all along. The birdhouse .49¢, the little white basket $1.99, and the other frame for $4.99.

  

It still makes me mad that thrift stores have high prices. This it not new stuff people......

Last Blossoms of Summer

The last flowers of summer are in my backyard. I was surprised to see the rose bush still pushing out it's buds. It's so nice to go outside and still see them. 

The sun is kissing the blooms.

I've Been Baking......

Yes I do bake. Not very often but I do. 

I found this package of Apple Bread at Pier 1 a fews weeks back and thought why not. It's from a mix, and it takes sour cream and chunky applesauce in addition. It turned out yummy !

I left it in probably 5 minutes to long, it's good all the same. Well eat one and freeze the other for another time.

I've Been Busy !

I've been working on a Duncan Phyfe double legged table. I bought about 4 years back for I think $20 0r 25 dollars from Goodwill. It was in rough shape and I went back and forth thinking do I sand and re-stain or sand and paint. I decided to paint. It's going to replace the table I've had for about 10 or so years that I was given. Now I would like to find different chairs. I have been looking for the Cane Back Chairs or French ladder chairs. I don't need more than 4. I don't have a large dining area. 

The feet on this table are brass. And cleaning them up has been a chore in itself. Three have rust on them and I've been putting Royal Jelly on them to try and restore them. They are taking a bit longer. The other three have cleaned up so well and I am happy with them, it's the rusted ones I am not sure will fair well. I'll just have to keep working on them. I can see the brass coming through, but it's taking it's sweet time. 

The above before picture is not my table. I forgot to take the picture. But the table is the same.

So, that's what I've been up to.

Cinderella's Shoe It's Not

I was going through Home Goods a few weeks ago, and ran across the Christmas stuff, and among the Christmas stuff was this wire sparkly shoe. Well being a girl I had to have it. Isn't it cute. 

I found the milk glass urn at Thrift Town my favorite place to find things. 

Yay, for Cindy at My Romantic Home...... She did such a great job with her part of HGTV Rate My Space last night. I was able to see it at 6 PM on an HD channel and her home looked so great and she looked and sounded un-nervous.  GREAT JOB !!!!!

And the one behind it is new. I've never seen plates like this with the gray. I found this at Thrift Town and I just love it.......
